If you are a visual learner here is my YouTube video of how I’ve made this recipe Video how to make turkey meal
Turkey is great for dogs but make sure you include the dark meat because that contains Taurine which is needed for a healthy heart!
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground turkey (including dark meat)
1-2 cloves garlic
3.2 ounces beef heart
1.6 ounces beef liver
1 can sardines drained (packed in water)
2 mussels
2 ounces Brussels sprouts
2 ounces asparagus
2 ounces shiitake mushrooms
2 ounces collard greens
3.2 ounces butternut squash
2 ounces organic blueberries
2 teaspoons of Animal Essential Seaweed Calcium
2 teaspoons of CTB Omega Booster*
Supplements are added at time of feeding including a rotation of oils and a probiotic.
Cook the turkey in coconut oil with the garlic. Put in food processor, then add all other ingredients and mix so all the veggies are undetected! Measure out in serving size and freeze.
Rotate all your ingredients so your dog is getting a variety in proteins and veggies.
*CTB Omega Booster: grind together in a high power mixer: 1 cup unsalted sunflower seeds, 1 cup unsalted pumpkin seeds, 1/4 cup flax seeds, 1/4 cup hemp hearts. Store in frig or freezer. Add 1 teaspoon per pound of protein.
Disclaimer: I am not a vet but a dog Mom who has studied Canine Nutrition and has been home cooking for my 13 year old dog since she was 7 months old and her yearly blood work is A+!
How do you measure out the portions? We have a Beagle, she eats cooked food with rice, but your recipes sound more filling, so I don't know how much I can give her and not have her feel hungry at the end of the meal.
