Thank you for this great article! I was feeding our dogs cooked food, but one day she found access to a tall table and ate a lot of rhubarb pie. She was close to kidney failure for weeks and all the vets told us to feed her renal food. So we did, and she got cancer in less than a year, which they also found too late... and we lost her in less than two weeks form the diagnosis. No one told us to check, and they didn't do an ultrasound until it was too late... I have the feeling we should be the ones making decisions, not doctors. They don't seem capable of decision making these days. Goes for humans, not just pets, too.

Oh wow I am so sorry that happened, seems like a roller coaster of emotions. I have to be honest here as I always am on my platform, I used to not believe in doctors and modern medicine but then my own child got cancer and it was the doctors and treatments that saved her life. I do now believe in doctors. However that being said, she was misdiagnosed by a Cancer doctor and we wasted four months going to other doctors to figure out what was wrong. Doctors for humans and animals do not have a crystal ball. I trust them to do surgeries because that is what they studied in vet school but I do not and will not trust a vet when it comes to nutrition and vaccines. We do need to be the voice for our animals. I hope you can heal and get another pup, they are so good for us and to us. Hugs to you.
